Center knurl

Created by Buddy Capps in January 1986. Designed to handle really big squats with the least amount of flex. With the inside collar measurement at 57.5” The Texas Squat Bar allows the biggest of lifters room to set up and find the right hand placement. Buddy updated the knurl pattern at the end of 2017 adding more knurl to grab your traps and real delts. (This changed the center knurl to 6” with 2” smooth on either side and then knurled to the hand space ring).

When I started lifting weights with Olympic bars back in the 1960’s, I noticed that there was hardly any grip. The knurling on these bars was so light when the bars were new, that now years later they were almost slick. The sleeves were held on to the bar with a threaded end cap and the inside collars were held in place with a set screw. Each sleeve consisted of three pieces.

The Goal was to create a bar that would have and keep a better knurled grip. A bar, whose sleeves wouldn’t slide in to the center. A maintenance free bar.

Proudly Made in the USA Since 1980. The shafts are center less ground, demagnetized and oiled to the max before shipping to Texas. Once at our production facility, we machine and then knurl each shaft to create a grip that is still the best in the industry. Texas Power Bars have different finishes available including black zinc and chrome plating.The sleeves are are available raw or chrome plated.

Flawless Bar and a New TPB Fanatic

I used to be all about Rogue bars until I used Texas bars in competition. The Texas Squat Bar was my first exposure to TPB, and I was hooked right away. I train conjugate, and love to have dedicated specialty bars, so I ordered this bar as soon as I could. Received the bar 4 days after purchase. Shipping was fast, and bar arrived in flawless condition via bullet proof packaging. The Cerakote finish is even, and complete coverage. The knurling is aggressive, and perfect. The sleeves have perfect rotation, and the chrome is chip/scratch free. I could not be happier with this bar.

Everything from the cerakote finish an chrome on sleeves it is immaculate and performs as good as it looks. I literally made bars when I worked at rogue I have to say the coating is better so is the knurling I couldn’t be happier saving now to get a bench bar!!

Amazing

I am absolutely blown away at the quality and craftsmanship of my squat bar. Never have to worry about the bar slipping on my back or having bar whip. When I get underneath locked in it's like the bar is welded to my back. The only downside is it looks really good and I get people coming up and asking me about it. Bazooka green was definitely the right color. I'm on a journey for 700lbs and knew I needed a bar that was capable and durable. I made the proper choice!
