Purchased the Black Zinc and this thing is amazing. The knurl is so aggressive that i haven't had to use chalk to maintain my grip as much on heavy lifts. You get what you pay for and this thing was worth every penny!
Bar looks and feels amazing. Nice to use a USPA standard bar for prep this year.
Got the purple cerakote finish and it is absolutely stunning. Knurling is perfect, and such a solid, quality bar.
Put it to the test straight out of the box, hit a clean 600lb raw PR on it first day! Only way is up from here 💪
Got the orange cerakote and absolutely love it. Going from an Ohio Power bar to an actual deadlift bar increased my long time PR by 15kg my first day with it. The knurling is the perfect level of aggressive without feeling like my hand is being torn apart.
Absolutely excellent bar. Zero blemishes on the cerakote, or the bar entirely. Knurling feels good. Would reccomend. Knurling is great for a multi purpose bar. Exactly what I was looking to purchase for my wife.
Got this bar on black Friday for 100 dollars off. I’ve used it for my CrossFit WODS and it performs outstanding. Not too aggressive kneeling and has good spin. Takes tension off the wrists and is decently quiet as well. Great purchase.
Holy shit, this bar is awesome. The knurling is not super aggressive, but is really surprisingly sticky and grippy once you start doing reps, and combined with the 27 mm shaft it has a really nice feel.
It’s a beautiful looking bar with the black, zinc and chrome. I love it. I ordered this bar on a Sunday afternoon and it shipped before sunrise the next morning. It was on my doorstep two days later.

Been to countless gyms over the last decade and the best gyms carry the Texas Power Bar. It only felt right to order it for my home gym. The Texas Deadlift bar will be next.
Love these bars. We bought them for our gym because our powerlifting federation uses them (NPL) and we need to practice on the same which we will use in comps.
We are a free community gym so this was a big purchase for us cost wise- but it is a must for the reason above as we have roughly 30 youth powerlifters we sponsor out of our garage gym.
Shipping was ok (not cheap to ship) first Thursday , then Friday, then Saturday but ultimately it got here.

My first TPB purchase was the Squat Bar and it’s been great and has held up wonderfully. Having such success and great training with the Squat Bar I knew I wanted a deadlift bar. The close out/blem bars are a gem for home gym guys with a limited budget! Had my first session with the bar today and it performed wonderfully, my top set was 2 sets of singles at 500lb then some RDLs. I know some PRs are on the way!
This is my first “high end” bar. I’ve been a lifter for around 30 years and only used what was available and well worn in. I have an Ohio bar and this one, and this bar is built better. They both will suit my needs, but this is a higher quality bar.
I needed to replace a cheap bar that was beginning to bend. I found TPB’s after seeing the recommendations of Mr. Meggers of Testify and learning that Mr. Rippetoe had a hand in the design of the SS bar. I looked at both the Starting Strength bar and the All American bar closely, and found that the specs were identical, except for the knurling. In the end I chose the more aggressive knurl of the All American and of course the cost difference was a factor too.
The bar arrived in perfect condition and earlier than expected (about a week). After using the AA I discovered that it is a high quality piece of American steel and that it is manufactured to as high a standard as one could ask for. It’s actually kind of pretty but I’m sure it will take all the abuse I can put it through.
Really cool to get to try their 29mm prototype sleeve bar for a nice markdown. My first 2 weeks of Starting Strength have appreciated the grippy knurling to take grip off of my mind when learning tk bench, deadlift, and press.
Similarly, the thick collars have probably saved me from banging up my wide Rogue stand with my plates, I was surprised how lumbering I felt with a few plates when just taking a step or two back from the hooks.
Online I had seen some reviewers meintioning some imperfections, so I was pleasantly surprised to see my “blem bar” had nice consistent knurling and finishing.
I would strongly recommend this bar to anyone, but especially those that want a REALLY nice 29mm barbell with thick collars for their walkout. If I ever get strong enough to need that extra inch on the sleeve length I’ll consider that a good problem to have.
Having been dedicated to the gym since I was an athlete in middle school 20+ years ago I’ve worked out with many different barbells needless to say; and this bar stands alone. I really like this barbell. It’s the perfect all purpose bar for everything that I do. The diameter and knurl is right on. It just feels right.
Evan Centopani was right. There isn't a better lifting bar on the market than the Texas power bar! I've had other ones and they simply just don't compare. Feel, looks, and especially the durability! I'll never own any other.
