Built in Texas

Description
MONSTER Texas Squat Bar (35mm)
King Of Squat Bars For Record Setting Squats
35mm Shaft — 66lbs / 30kg — FSA/HSA Eligible
The MONSTER Texas Squat Bar is a heavy-duty specialty squat barbell built for those who demand absolute stability, zero whip, and total dominance under the heaviest loads ever racked. This isn’t just a standard squat bar — engineered specifically for elite-level squat training and world-record attempts. With a massive 35mm shaft and weighing in at 66 lbs (30kg), it is the undisputed King of Squat Bars. Designed for lifters who laugh at limits, this bar provides complete confidence when the weight reaches its peak.
Why The "Monster" Is In A League Of Its Own
Top pick for when the regular squat bar simply isn't enough. Here is why the Monster wins:
- ✓ 35mm Shaft Diameter: Our thickest 200k tensile shaft creates ultimate stiffness for No Whip or Bend, even under 1000lb+ loads.
- ✓ 66 lbs / 30 kg Weight: Extra mass for maximum rack walkout stability. The bar feels completely dead in your hands.
- ✓ 18¾" Loadable Sleeves: Massive sleeve length provides room for the widest calibrated plate stacks or huge iron loads.
- ✓ 6" Center Knurl: Extra-wide aggressive center knurl bites into the traps to prevent rolling on even the heaviest grinder reps.
Built to Break Records
The Monster Texas Squat Bar is a barbell in a league of its own. Featuring a massive 35mm shaft forged from 200k+ PSI tensile strength steel, this bar is engineered for maximum stiffness and virtually zero whip.
At a staggering 101.5″ overall length, the Monster doesn’t just handle heavy weight — it was born for it. The added mass and oversized diameter keep the bar locked in position during unracks, walkouts, and max-effort squats where instability is not an option.
When squats are life, there’s no substitute.
Who Needs The Monster?
- Elite powerlifters chasing All-Time World Records
- Super Heavyweight (SHW) lifters who need a bar that matches their frame
- Equipped lifters (Multi-ply) needing massive sleeve space
- Lifters who find standard squat bars too "whippy" or unstable
- Gym owners who want the ultimate statement piece for leg day
- Strongman looking to train with extreme stiffness/thickness
Warning: This bar weighs 66lbs (30kg). It is significantly heavier than standard bars.
Best Texas Power Bar for Extreme Squat Loads
Regarded as the best Texas Power Bar for extreme squat loads, the Monster delivers unmatched stability, stiffness, and confidence. Unlike standard bars that can oscillate (bounce) under extreme weight, causing you to lose your line or balance, the Monster remains perfectly rigid. This allows you to transfer 100% of your force into the floor without fighting the physics of a bending bar.
Engineered for Max Squatting
- Zero Whip: 35mm shaft guarantees the bar stays straight, no matter the load.
- Max Capacity: 18.75" sleeves hold more plates than almost any other bar on the market.
- Total Confidence: "It doesn’t bend. It doesn’t break. And it doesn’t back down."
This is not a multi-purpose bar. This is a dedicated squat weapon built for lifters who train beyond normal limits.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Monster Texas Squat Bar designed only for squatting?
Yes. This bar is purpose-built exclusively for heavy squat training and extreme loads. The 35mm thickness and extreme stiffness make it unsuitable for bench press or deadlifts.
Does the Monster Texas Squat Bar have whip?
Almost none. The 35mm shaft and 200K PSI steel are engineered for maximum stiffness and minimal flex ("zero whip").
Will this bar fit my power rack?
The bar is significantly longer than a standard power bar (101.5"). You must measure your gym space and rack width to confirm compatibility, especially with compact racks.
How much does the Monster Bar weigh?
It weighs 66 lbs / 30 kg. Always account for this extra weight when calculating your plate load.
Can I use this for bench pressing or other lifts?
We do not recommend it. The 35mm shaft is extremely thick for a pressing grip, and the bar weight (30kg) is non-standard for bench computations.

Commonly Asked Questions
Commonly Asked Questions
Do Texas Power Bars come with a warranty?
All Texas Power Bars products manufactured by Capps Welding Inc. have a lifetime warranty on craftsmanship. Our bars have a limited lifetime warranty against bending for the original owner under normal use. We do not warrant any item that has been abused, neglected or dumped on rack pins, safety bars, straps, boxes et al. Bushings and bearings will wear over time. If a bushing or bearing should fail/break under normal use this is covered under our warranty for 5 years.
Any bar shaft that is bent will be handled on a case by case basis and the replacement will be at the sole discretion of Capps Welding Inc.
The original customer may ship a bar back for inspection after written authorization is provided.
Proudly Made in Texas for over 40 years.
How should I maintain my barbell to ensure it lasts a lifetime?
Wipe down the shaft and sleeves with a dry cloth after training to remove chalk and sweat. For deeper cleaning, use a stiff nylon brush on the knurling. Lightly oil the sleeves every few months if needed.
Can I use chalk, straps, or liquid grip with my bar?
Yes. Chalk, straps, and liquid grip are all safe to use and won’t void your warranty. We recommend brushing excess chalk out of the knurling regularly.
What’s the best way to clean the knurling and sleeves?
Use a stiff nylon brush to loosen chalk and dirt. Avoid wire brushes, as they can damage the finish. For sleeves, wipe with a dry or lightly oiled cloth.
Will my barbell ever need oiling or lubrication?
Our bronze bushings are self-lubricating and require very little maintenance. Occasionally wiping the sleeves with a cloth and a few drops of light oil will keep them moving smoothly.
Are Texas Power Bars safe to store in a garage or outdoors?
Yes, but keep in mind that extreme humidity or rain exposure can cause surface rust. If storing in a garage, occasional cleaning and oiling will help prevent rust. We don’t recommend outdoor storage without protection.
How long will the knurling stay sharp?
Texas Power Bars are known for their aggressive, long-lasting knurling. With regular use and proper care, the knurling will maintain its bite for decades.
Can my barbell handle dropping with bumper plates?
Yes. Texas Power Bars are built to withstand heavy drops with bumper plates, but they are not designed for repeated drops on bare steel plates or on hard surfaces without protective flooring.
Do the sleeves spin, and what type of bushing system do you use?
Yes. All Texas Power Bars use self-lubricating bronze bushings for a reliable, smooth sleeve rotation without the maintenance needs of needle bearings.
Are these bars approved for competition use?
Yes. The Original Texas Power Bar and Texas Deadlift Bar are widely approved and trusted in federations including IPF, USAPL, and many others.
