First time investing in a barbell, and if I do it again, I will choose Texas!!
I live in Japan and received my deadlift bar in less than five days. The quality of the knurling was beyond my expectation; perfect.
I invested plenty of time studying which manufacturer to go with; I researched all the competitors. In the end, Texas Power Bars was the solid decision.
This isn't my first (or last) rodeo, as I have 3 other Texas power bars. The cerakote Texas deadlift bar is as good as it gets. Had some reservations about how the coating would affect the grip, but very pleased that I do not feel any difference between the cerakote and black zinc bars. 10/10.
This thing is a work of art!
Ordered the black Cerakote and was a bit concerned that the coating might get in the way of the nice, aggressive knurling. Not only does it look beautiful, but it feels great! Grippy as a wild beast!
Also ordered the TPB in white Cerakote on the same day as the Deadlift Bar, and these two pieces are the most prized possessions at the home gym. Ordered on a Wednesday; they arrived on my doorstep in Houston that Friday. Highly recommend!
The grip, whip, and color are 5/5. Just buy the damn bar already.
I recently received my new red cerakote finished Deadlift bar. While removing the packaging, I placed the bar up on my rack's spotting pins to get the cardboard tubing removed. During this process, I gently slid the unloaded bar across across a smooth stainless steel spotting pin. Once I got the bar on the floor and loaded some plates on it, I noticed a long scar in the cerakote where I had maneuvered the bar on the pins. It was peeled down to the bear steel underneath. Zero durability whatsoever. I might be ok with some scuffing, but it completely peeled away. I'm very disappointed that I spent extra for what is supposed to be a premium coating. Outside of that, the bar is great. Great knurl, whip and smooth bearings...just with a nice scar in my new red coating.
